Braai Kompetisie ReĆ«ls ā Afrikaans:
- Terwyl dit verkieslik is dat alle spanlede ouer as 18 jaar is, is dit verpligtend dat minstens een spanlid ouer as 18 is, of dat ān bykomende lid as voog optree.
- Deelname aan die kompetisie impliseer aanvaarding van die kompetisiereƫls en deelnemers stem in om by hierdie reƫls te hou.
- ān Span bestaan uit ān maksimum van 4 persone. Die inskrywingsfooi is R500.00 per span.
- Spanne moet alles self voorsien: braaier, gazebo, toerusting, en bestanddele (vleis sal voorsien word).
- Slegs oop vuurbraaie en Webers (sonder deksel) word toegelaat. Jy kan hout, brikette of houtskool gebruik. Geen gas- of rotisseriebraaie word toegelaat nie.
- Geen bykomende hulp buite die spanlede word toegelaat nie.
- Geen disse of voorbereidings mag vooraf by die huis gedoen word nie, soos om vleis te marineer, slaai te maak, deeg te knie, of groente te skil.
- Elke span kry ān 3Ć3 meter braai kamp wat vooraf gemerk sal wees. Ondersteuners is welkom om agter die braai kamp te kuier.
- Spanne mag hul stalletjies opstel tussen 5:30 ā 8:00 vm.
- Alle voertuie moet teen 8:15 verwyder word (aangewese parkering sal beskikbaar wees). Indien nie, begin die span met ān aftrekpunt.
- Advertensieborde vir besighede moet vooraf gereƫl word. Enige ander banier vir jou stalletjie se gees of tema is welkom.
- Jy is welkom om ān koelboks met jou eie drankies te bring. Daar is egter ān R200 koelboks-kurkfooi per drank-koelboks. Maak asseblief voorsiening hiervoor.
- Hou asseblief die terrein netjies en skoon soos dit ontvang is. Elke span ontvang ān boks en swartsak. Na afloop moet die swartsak in die voorsiene skip gegooi word.
- Elke span is verantwoordelik vir hul eie warm water, indien nodig.
- Handhaaf altyd vuurveiligheid en goeie higiĆ«ne. ān Laag ātopsoilā moet onder alle braaiers geplaas word. Ons verskaf die topsoil.
- Indien enige aanvullende brandveiligheidsvereistes deur die Tshwane Brandweer gestel word, sal die organiseerders dit voor die kompetisie aan die spanne kommunikeer. Elke span is self verantwoordelik om aan die vereistes te voldoen. Ons moedig alle spanne aan om hierdie riglyne ernstig op te neem om die veiligheid van almal te verseker.
- Elke span moet ān gedrukte spyskaart en ān lys van bestanddele en metodes hĆŖ. As jy enige allergene bestanddele gebruik, soos neute of seekos, moet dit duidelik aangedui word.
- Elke span sal voorsien word van die kompetisie-vleis, wat die volgende insluit:
- Halwe hoender
- Pork belly
- Wors
- Verrassingselement
- Elke span moet die volgende voorberei:
- Voorgereg: Jou gunsteling braaibroodjie. Jy ontvang 4 snye brood. (10 punte)
- Braaivleis: Die voorsiene vleis. (10 punte)
- Een bykos wat oor die vuur berei is. (10 punte)
- Nagereg. (10 punte)
- Netheid en aanbieding van stalletjie. (10 punte)
- Beoordelingstye sal op die dag van die kompetisie bespreek word. Spanne word beoordeel op: Geur, Kleur, Smaak, Kreatiwiteit, Algehele aanbieding, Rou beoordeling (indien van toepassing)
- Diskwalifikasie sal volg indien:
- Kru-taal, swak gedrag of onbeskofte optrede teenoor organiseerders, beoordelaars of ander spanne gepleeg word.
- Enige item vooraf gemaak is ā alles moet op die dag self voorberei en gaar gemaak word.
- Daar meer as vier persone help in die braaikamp. Slegs die vier spanlede mag betrokke wees by voorbereiding.
- Ondersteuners mag agter die braai kamp kuier.
- Die beoordelaars se besluit is finaal. Geen appĆØl sal toegelaat word nie.
- Geen fotoās van kinders van die kinderhuis mag geneem of op sosiale media geplaas word nie, tensy uitdruklike toestemming van beide die organiseerders en die betrokke kinderhuis verkry is. Dit is belangrik om die privaatheid en veiligheid van die kinders te beskerm.
Braai Competition Rules ā English:
- While it is preferable that all team members are over 18 years old, it is mandatory that at least one member of the team is over 18, or that an extra team member acts as a guardian.
- Participation in the competition implies acceptance of the competition rules, and participants agree to abide by these rules.
- A team consists of a maximum of 4 people. The entry fee is R500.00 per team.
- Teams must provide everything themselves: braai (grill), gazebo, equipment, and ingredients (meat will be provided).
- Only open-fire braais and Webers (without lids) will be allowed. You may use wood, briquettes, or charcoal. No gas or rotisserie braais will be allowed.
- No additional help outside of the team members is allowed.
- No dishes or prep work may be done in advance at home, such as marinating meat, making salads, kneading dough, or peeling vegetables.
- Each team will receive a 3Ć3 meter braai camp that will be marked in advance. All supporters are welcome to hang out behind the braai camp.
- Teams may set up their stalls between 5:30 ā 8:00 AM.
- All vehicles must be out by 8:15 AM (designated parking will be available). If not, the team will start the competition with a penalty point.
- Advertising boards for businesses must be arranged in advance. Any other banners reflecting your stallās spirit or theme are welcome.
- You are welcome to bring a cooler box with your own drinks. However, there will be a cooler corkage fee of R200 per drinks cooler. Please make provision for this.
- Please keep the grounds clean and tidy as they were received. Each team will receive a box and a black bag at their stall. After the competition, please throw your black bag into the designated skip.
- Each team must supply its own hot water if needed.
- Fire safety and good hygiene must be maintained at all times. A layer of topsoil must be placed underneath all braais. We will supply the topsoil.
- If there are any additional fire safety requirements set by the Tshwane Fire Department, the organizers will communicate them to participating teams before the start of the competition. It will be each team’s responsibility to ensure compliance with all relevant requirements to create a safe environment. We encourage teams to take these guidelines seriously and make all necessary preparations to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
- Each team must have a printed menu and list of ingredients and methods for the dishes. If you use any allergen-prone ingredients (e.g., nuts or seafood), these must be clearly indicated.
- We will provide each team with the meat to be braaied for the competition, which includes:
- Half chicken
- Pork belly
- Sausage (wors)
- Surprise element
- Each team must prepare the following:
- Starter: Your favorite braai sandwich. You will be provided with 4 slices of bread. (10 points)
- Braai Meat: The meat provided. (10 points)
- One side dish cooked over the fire. (10 points)
- Dessert. (10 points)
- Neatness and stall presentation. (10 points)
- The judging schedule will be discussed on the day of the competition. Teams will be judged on: Flavor, Color, Taste, Creativity, Overall presentation, Raw judging (i.e., if anything is undercooked)
- Disqualification will occur for:
- Use of foul language, bad behavior, or rebelliousness toward the organizers, judges, or other teams.
- Using pre-made itemsāanything for the starter, side dish, or dessert must be prepared and cooked on the day.
- Any people helping inside the braai camp outside of the four official team members will lead to disqualification.
- Supporters are welcome to relax behind the braai camp.
- The judgeās decision is final, and there will be no appeals process.
- No photos of any children from the childrenās home may be taken or shared on social media without the express permission of the organizers of the braai competition and the childrenās home involved. It is important to respect the privacy and safety of the children.
