About President Kruger Children's Home Pretoria

In 2023, a group of community members came together with a shared dream – to host a fundraising event in aid of the President Kruger Children’s Home in Pretoria. We decided we wanted to do something different and unique… and since we all love to braai, the Skud Jou Vleis Braai Competition 2023 was born!

We then hosted our first successful braai competition and managed to raise an incredible R47,000.00. These funds made a tangible difference, and we are determined to keep that momentum going – this time with the goal of making an even greater impact in the lives of the children at the children’s home.

One of the reasons why this support is so important is because the government subsidy simply does not keep up with inflation. In fact, it decreases year after year. In the 2023/24 financial year, the children’s home received only 30% of its annual expenses from the government – which means there is only enough funding for 4 out of the 12 months.

Your contribution truly makes a difference. It helps keep the doors of the children’s home open, maintains a high standard of education and care, and creates a safe and loving environment where children have the opportunity to dream, grow, and reach their full potential.
